Reaching Out to Our CommunityMembers of our team gave a presentation about aztec.exe at Bruggemeyer Library to introduce the community of Monterey Park, and educate youth about robotics using ourselves as an example, and to sustain the team.
We also ran a games booth at Brightwood Elementary annual youth fair. We modified our team’s robots to have 3D printed game claw attachments to play a game where kids would collect stuffed animals around with our robots and put them into baskets.
At Brightwood Elementary, the team taught the basics of robotics, coding, engineering, etc to students. We helped a lot of children become interested in robotics. Then, we assisted them in building their robot and website for their competition. This happens every Wednesday before the pandemic.

At Garvey Intermediate School, we install an aquaponic system for educational purposes. Aquaponics is the raising of fish and plants in a recirculating ecosystem. The fish waste provides nutrients for the plants. Students will learn their responsibilities to take care of the fish and plants since they are living things that can die if not given appropriate care.
